Helmet description
The helmet of Yarm was excavated in England a long time ago. Recently, the helmet became very popular, probably due to the eagerness of re-enactors to use it, after its re-discovery.
The helmet was hastily dated by the academic community as a 10th century Viking helmet, due to some resemblance to the helmet from Gjermundbu, from Norway. At present, this hypothesis is not confirmed and the Yarm helmet appears chronologically older.
Recognizable by its "flat" rivets and its relatively rustic mask, this spangenhelm is undoubtedly a purely military helmet, more than a ceremonial artifact.
Made of 2mm "st3" steel. Nasal part 3mm thickness.
Everything is hand-forged by quality craftmens. Chainmail is hand-made, from the wire, to the final riveting by a specialized maker. We do not provide any chainmail / helmet from India, or Pakistan!
Produced on order, within 4 weeks only!
Shipping costs are calculated after the helmet is manufactured.
Indeed, the weight of a helmet varies greatly, depending on the model, the size, and whether or not a chainmail aventail is added.
*Our goal is to charge the customer the actual amount of postage, and not a penny more! It therefore seems more appropriate to us to proceed in this way, rather than to estimate shipping costs arbitrarily, with a margin of safety which would unfairly affect certain customers.

Our helmets are fully customizable:
