TYPE B SWORD
This sword model is very characteristic of Norway in the 9th century. This type seems to appears around the 8th century. A type B sword were also discovered in England (Ballinaby sword, modern Scotland)
Type B swords which are both single edged, or double edged are typical from the early to mid viking age.
The archaeological artefacts of these swords often have a very heavy weight. This is why we see so few of these swords used by historical fencers.
We have remedied the situation, and are happy to bring you superb Norwegian Type B swords, at a light-weight with a decent balance point.
