Helmet description

Superb replica of the tjele helmet, current Denmark, 10th century.
This helmet is an hybrid, between the helmet of Gjermundbu, to which we have added Tjelle's eyebrows.

The Tjele helmet fragment is a Viking Age fragment of iron and bronze, originally comprising the eyebrows and noseguard of a helmet. It was discovered in 1850 with a large assortment of smith's tools in Denmark, and though the find was sent to the National Museum of Denmark, for 134 years the fragment was mistaken for a saddle mount. In 1984 it was properly identified by an assistant keeper at the museum as the remainder of one of only five known helmets from the Viking era.

The fragment is dated to approximately 950 to 970 AD, and is contemporary to the Gjermundbu helmet, from Norway. Ideal for a Danish warrior, 10th century, late Viking-Age.

----

Made of 2mm "st3" steel. Nasal part 3mm thickness.
Everything is hand-forged by quality craftmens. Chainmail is hand-made, from the wire, to the final riveting by a specialized maker. We do not provide any chainmail / helmet from India, or Pakistan!
Produced on order, within 4 weeks only!

Shipping costs are calculated after the helmet is manufactured.
Indeed, the weight of a helmet varies greatly, depending on the model, the size, and whether or not a chainmail aventail is added.

*Our goal is to charge the customer the actual amount of postage, and not a penny more! It therefore seems more appropriate to us to proceed in this way, rather than to estimate shipping costs arbitrarily, with a margin of safety which would unfairly affect certain customers.
