Historical informations

Minted between 800-825 near Ribe, Viking area, modern Denmark during the reign of the viking King "Godfred", well known for his raids in slavs territories (Obrodites).
These coins, decorated with a Odin's face, and a deer with Valknut and other mythological symbols were considered as "very rare" untill 2018, and a large discovery, thanks to a metal detectorist, near Ribe. More than 250 coins of this type were unhearted by archaeologists, who saids: "the coins appear pristine. They must have been used as coins and not just as hack silver. The coins had not been tested, but rather intended to be taken at their face value."
