900-1200 AD

Kievan rus Sash, fully made of brocade silk. Sash are wide fabric belts mainly for Kievan Rus reenactment purposes, but also for nomadic & seldjukid reenactment.
These belts are characteristic of Rus fashion; fragments of one of these belts have been discovered in Kiev and are the subject of a proposal for reconstruction. We can also guess a sash, on an iconography representing the first princes of the Rus of Kiev, visible in the Cathedral of Saint-Boris-and-Saint-Gleb of Chernigov, but whose dating slighty more later than the archaeological site of Kiev which delivered the fragments of Sash.
The use of wide fabric belts, possibly made of luxuous fabrics is also known into middle-east context (seldjukid)

MOSCHEVAYA BALKA BROCADE SILK.
