Middle age Rus Sash, made of historical silk brocade from our famous catalogue.
These belts are characteristic of Rus fashion; fragments of one of these belts have been discovered in Kiev and are the subject of a proposal for reconstruction. We can also guess a sash, on an iconography representing the first princes of the Rus of Kiev, visible in the Cathedral of Saint-Boris-and-Saint-Gleb of Chernigov, but whose dating slighty more later than the archaeological site of Kiev which delivered the fragments of Sash. Some archaeological conjectural evidences would suggest the use of such a belt into Viking / Birka context as well. To finnish, such a fabric belt, wrapped around the waist is oftenly seen into Seljuk culture, middle-age.
Lenght around 200cm + fringes.
