The original artifact was found in the tomb of bishop San Pedro de Osma (died in 1109) in the Burgo de Osma Cathedral, Spain.
This silk brocade depicts a pairs of lions attacking human-headed birds within circles connected by smaller circles containing inscriptions. The inscription means “This was made in the town of Baghdad, may God guard it.”

One interresting thing is to note that this pattern was the first which was produced in the European continent at the middle-age. Weavers copied excellently a Persian brocade, and even the kufic inscription, which indicates that the original silk brocade was made in Baghdad.
