Historical informations
Minted between 1244 and 1280 in Hainaut, during the reign of Marguerite of Constantinople, countess of Flanders. The county of Hainaut is a former county which belonged to the Holy Roman Empire and was located on the edge of the Kingdom of France. A knight, heavy armoured and riding a horse decorate one face of the coin.
