Historical informations

Denarius of Augustus.
Under the reign of Augustus, a period of stability began for Rome, traditionally known as the Pax Romana, after a century of political divisions and civil wars. The Roman world was no longer threatened by major wars of invasion or by confrontations with equivalent rivals for almost two centuries. For the most part, wars become defensive, occasionally conquest. The size of the Empire increased significantly with the annexations of Egypt, Dalmatia, Pannonia, Noricum and Rhaetia and the latest conquests in Africa, Germania and Hispania. Augustus stabilizes the border regions through buffer states and manages to conclude a peace with the Parthian Empire.
