Historical informations

Minted in Cologne, modern Germany, under the reign of Otto III, between 983 and 996.
During the second half of the 10th century, the Ottonians were the most powerful dynasty in the West. Otto III is the grandson of Otto I, known for having put an end to the Magyar incursions, following his crushing victory at Lechfeld.
