Arabian silver dirham, excavated in the grave #750, Birka, Sweden, Viking age. The coin is probably dating to 7-8th century, and was in use many years later.
The Vikings valued Islamic coins because of their purity of silver. These pieces have a very wide spatial and chronological distribution era. Such Dirhams are also in circulation in the Rus space, and are sometimes even the subject of counterfeiting since the early Middle Ages.
