The original artifact, the replica of which is presented to you here, comes from Egypt, and was undoubtedly produced in Syria during late antiquity, or the very beginning of the early Middle Ages.
Fragments of this type of brocade are kept in the Keir Collection (GB), the Newark Museum (USA) and the Royal Museum of Scotland.
